Mycket mat och sport i delningsbostaden

En ny termin har startat och fyra internationella studenter har flyttat in på KTH Live-In Lab. Vi besökte de nyinflyttade för att höra vad de tycker om delningsbostaden som vi ritade för några år sedan.

Hur använder ni bostaden?

– We eat together a lot! For dinner one person usually cooks and the rest eats. During the week we don't always have the same schedule, so it's harder to eat lunch together. I would say I spend about three, four hours in the kitchen. I don't use the living room so much, maybe just one or two hours a day. Then the rest of the time I'll be on campus or in my room. 

– For us it's different, we watch more sports and movies so we use the living room more. We have a projector in the living room so we like watching sports together. As long as we agree on what to watch. (alla skrattar)

Två veckor efter inflytt verkar de fyra studenterna redan känna varandra och stämningen är god. Det verkar också som att delningsbostaden blivit ett slags vardagsrum för fler.

– The kitchen especially, since we mainly hang out here when we have friends over. It's the main social space. 

Vi frågar om det som alla brukar undra: Hur har det fungerat att dela badrum? 

– I think it works fine. I don't think we need one each. I feel like it's very comfortable.

Och städningen? En av studenterna berättar att han var lite fundersam innan, om hur det skulle bli.

– I mean, I was kind of worried, like how clean everyone is going to be here, especially the kitchen. But I think we got kind of lucky, we're all similarly clean people. 

Vi är nyfikna på vad studenterna har för tankar om integritet och trygghet. De verkar nöjda med att kunna dra sig tillbaka till de egna rummen. Att kunna stänga skjutdörrarna till de mer privata sviterna för att stänga ute ljud och kryddstark matlagning är uppskattat. De känner sig hemma och trygga, sovrumsdörrarna brukar inte låsas.

– No, just the entrance door. Even in the beginning we left it open. I think the only time I locked the bedroom door, was when I was trying if the key worked.

Ser de någon fördel i att bo tillsammans? 

– Yes, for example, eating together is very nice. Or when you are cooking for other people and they appreciate the food, that's a nice feeling! Also nice when others cook for you, and you get to try new dishes that you normally wouldn't think of cooking yourself. 

Skulle campus vinna på fler delade bostäder? 

– I would prefer sharing housing. The social part is so very important! Coming as a new foreign student to this country, if you live in a single student apartment, I think it would be more difficult to integrate. Here you meet more people that are also new, and it’s easier to talk to other students and maybe get involved with more activities. 

Så roligt att höra hur olika grupper av studenter upplever och använder bostaden. Tack för att vi fick se ert hem!
